Defend yourself from enemies from space in this VR game

Dawn of the Robot Empire puts a pistol in one of your hands and a shield in the other. You are tasked with defending yourself from different types of aliens and things such as meteor showers.

A strange take on common space traditions

Dawn of the Robot Empire is weird due to the way it messes around with what people consider space traditions. For example, the laser pistol shoots a chunk of energy, but it flies through the air as if it were a wooden arrow. Plus, the use of a shield when dealing with projectiles is not unusual, but it is unusual in a space setting. The wire-mesh background seems almost lazy as if the developers couldn’t be bothered to skin it with something textured. Plus, many of the enemies look like they were designed by lazy students.

Fight off waves of enemies

Dawn of the Robot Empire is a game where you fight off waves of different enemies. If you look upon the gravity feature as something good, then Dawn of the Robot Empire has very well-polished gameplay. You may fight over long distances with the pistol, or use a staff for close combat. The game is repetitive and can become boring, but the fact that the controls are so responsive is reason enough for some people to try this game. The responsive controls mean that you may learn how to master the game quickly because the results of your shots are more consistent.

PROS

  • Gravity affects your laser shots
  • The controls are surprisingly responsive

CONS

  • A very repetitive game
  • It is very difficult to see things in the distance
